Singing
with Belinda Gannon

Belinda Gannon is a local community musician. Her sessions are fun, all-inclusive and easy to join in. You don’t even have to be able to sing a note! Over this session we will use our voices and simple musical instruments to learn a new song, share some old favourites and experiment with rhythms. Come along and have some fun!

Crafting for Christmas

Wednesday 21st November 13:30 to 15:30, Bracklesham Barn
Christmas isn’t far away, and this is the ideal time to get creative with crafts. Join Julie and be inspired to try out some new ideas, working with a range of different materials. Equipment is provided but feel free to bring anything you may already have that you would like to create with.

Story Telling

Stories make and shape our lives. Come along to a story telling session with a difference and go on an enjoyable and fun journey from cave paintings and myths to Frank Sinatra and Tommy Cooper, then on to the pleasure and satisfaction of telling your own tales! If at home you have a picture or object with a story behind it just bring it with you to bring it to life, or simply enjoy listening to others tell their own tales. Perhaps we’ll make our own unique story group too.

Decorating wreaths and candles

Saturday 15th December 10:30 – 12:30 , Bracklesham Barn
Join Becky Dunn for some relaxed creativity decorating wreaths and candle lanterns for Christmas. She will provide all material and foliage but you are welcome to bring along your own greenery (holly, ivy, fir or laurel) and any other festive additions – ribbons, dried fruit, nuts, etc. Becky will guide you through the various stages of creating a traditional Christmas wreath and will also show you how to make simple lanterns to decorate the festive table using tea lights in jam jars decorated with music manuscript papers.

Silk painted cards

Make a silk painted card for someone special, yourself included! You will stretch your silk on to a small embroidery hoop to keep it taut.
You can trace your design onto the silk before you start, either by copying a simple outline of an image with pencil on to the silk, or you can draw your design freehand. You then have the option to frame your silk panel inside a card.

Imaginative Felting
with Nancy Froud
Wednesday 23rd January 13.30 to 15:30, Bracklesham Barn
You will develop a design for your felt using nature for inspiration. You can bring along a favourite photograph, card, painting or magazine article to help as a starting point.
Look out for a simple image, strong shapes that will translate well into felt. Stylised flowers, plants, fish and animals make wonderful subjects. The small felt you make in the session could either be framed as a work of art, sewn onto a cushion cover, used as a bookmark or a card.

Harp Playing for Fun and Wellbeing

Saturday 26th January 10.30 to 13:30, Bracklesham Barn
Anybody can make a lovely sound on these little harps straight away! Come along and have a go on these beautiful instruments and discover how to play soothing and relaxing harp music.
Alice is an occupational therapist and therapeutic harp practitioner and will guide you through basic technique, games, improvisation, composition and familiar music so you can experience the sounds of the harp. No previous musical experience is necessary.

Painting on canvas bunting
with Joan Smith
Saturday 9th February 10:30 to 12:30, Bracklesham Barn
Paint your own unique piece of artwork on to a triangle shaped canvas, using acrylic paints and your creative imagination to produce a colourful string of bunting. We intend this will become part of a community art piece to be displayed!

Creating Vision Boards

Come along and make a vision board! Your board will be a collage of pictures, words and quotes that inspire you to bring more of what you want in to your life.
They’re great fun to make. It will be your own unique creation. Come and join Henrietta for an afternoon of inspiration and fun!

Fun with Photography

Rowan will take you through some creative steps to produce your own expressive and beautiful photographs learning some useful skills on the way with an aim to enjoy photography and have fun in the process. Bring your own camera or you could use your smartphone!

Heartspace Lunch and Share

You’re all welcome to come along to Bracklesham Barn for a light lunch and some sweet live music.
We will also be unveiling a new feature for Bracklesham Barn – a Willow Dome – a living, breathing space for use by all the community.
There will be time to share your Heartspace experience through your art journal or a piece of your work. If you don’t feel you can do that you can simply listen to others or have a chat.

Creative Writing

All welcome to this inclusive creative writing workshop. Writing for pleasure, self expression, or to support existing projects, this workshop will offer you exercises and prompts to aid your creative flow through words. Pens and paper will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own personal note books if you wish to.

Peg Loom Weaving
with Sue Cotten
Wednesday 3rd April 13:30 to 15:30, Bracklesham Barn
Come along and try peg loom weaving, it is relaxing and very easy to learn. You will be amazed how quick it is to pick up and a great way to make something with some gorgeous yarns without having to learn knitting or crocheting. Sue Cotten will show you how to set up the wooden peg loom and weave around the pegs, then the magic happens when you life the pegs out of the base,
You can choose to make either a long scarf or shorter scarf and matching mitts. If you have any yarn (chunky or super chunky) you would like to use, bring it along.

Making Willow Platters

Make a willow platter using assorted willow with the assistance of Linda Mills, full time basket maker and willow sculptor. It is ideal to use for biscuits, bread, hot scones or fruit.
